About Us

Shooting Star is a small rodentry located in Gainesville, Florida.
I have owned Mongolian gerbils since 1994, and have been raising them since 2003.
I have been a proud member of the American Gerbil Society for over 15 years.
My gerbil pups are handled from birth, and acclimated to various household noises and occurrences.

At present, we maintain a "closed kennel". This means we do not allow visitors to the rodentry, and any new animals observe a standard quarantine before entry. We are happy to provide photos and/or video of our setup and available pups, but all adoptions take place off-site.

Our founding pair: Snowball and Oreo

Other Pets

Our current non-gerbil residents include one dog and a snake.
